Dear New MHS Students and Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to Monticello High School! On behalf of the faculty and administrative team at MHS, we welcome you as we start this new journey! I will be starting my 26th year in education and beginning my 5th year as principal at MHS, and I am looking forward to working together as we continue to make Monticello High School the premier high school in Central Illinois. #gosages
Freshman and New Student Orientation will take place in the MHS auditorium on Monday, August 17 from 1:30 PM-3:00PM. Students will meet administration and the guidance department as well as get the opportunity to ask questions to an upperclassman panel. The day will end with a building tour in order for students to find their classrooms. Please encourage and facilitate your child’s attendance.
The office is also open for New Student Registration on Wednesday, August 5 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Once you register for school, your students’ class schedules can be found online through Teacherease.com. I encourage you and your child to check the schedule in advance. At the high school, we follow the 8 Block Schedule, which means there are no free periods or study halls. Your schedule should show four classes on A-Day and four classes on B-Day. The Guidance Counselors are available beginning in August to discuss any scheduling issues.
